LPIC-1: System Administrator

LPIC-1 is the first certification in LPI’s multi-level Linux professional certification program. The LPIC-1 will validate the candidate's ability to perform maintenance tasks on the command line, install and configure a computer running Linux and configure basic networking.

The LPIC-1 is designed to reflect current research and validate a candidate's proficiency in real world system administration. The objectives are tied to real-world job skills, which we determine through job task analysis surveying during exam development.

LPIC-2: Linux Engineer

LPIC-2 is the second certification in LPI’s multi-level professional certification program. The LPIC-2 will validate the candidate's ability to administer small to medium–sized mixed networks. The candidate must have an active LPIC-1 certification to receive LPIC-2 certification, but the LPIC-1 and LPIC-2 exams may be taken in any order.

CompTIA Linux+ certification provides a basic foundation for individuals to work and maintain Linux installations. Linux+ certification is valuable for those new to or currently working within the Linux operation system.

With Linux+ training at New Horizons Bulgaria the student will learn to:

• Identify basic Linux concepts and perform basic Linux tasks
• Manage user and group accounts
• Manage partitions and the Linux filesystem
• Manage various files in Linux
• Work with Linux permissions and ownership
• Print files
• Manage packages
• Manage kernel services
• Work with the Bash shell and shell scripts
• Manage jobs and processes
• Manage system services
• Configure network services
• Configure basic Internet services
• Implement measures to secure a Linux system
• Manage hardware associated with Linux systems
• Troubleshoot Linux system issues
• Install the Linux operating system
• Configure the GUI

The CompTIA Linux+ certification is considered good for life and does not need to be renewed.
